Since 1990, DOMiD has been collecting material which documents immigration to Germany since the first bilateral agreements on labour-recruitment. The result is a social-historical and cultural-historical collection, a collection of "history of the everyday" which consists of books, grey literature, newspapers, magazines, documents, photos, film, audio recording, leaflets, posters and objects.

DOMiD’s archive is based on items of loan and gifts by individuals and institutions. If you own material on the history of migration that you want to make publically accessible, please don’t hesitate to contact us. The protection and enlargement of the DOMiD’s archive is promoted with means of the Ministerium für Arbeit, Integration und Soziales. The project support occurs with means of the Ministerium für Familie, Kinder, Jugend, Kultur und Sport.
